The history and life of

I am proud to show you my EH Holden.  Hand on heart I can say that I have been involved in each and every step of the restoration process as I was determined that I was not going have a car that 'my husband did up for me'.  Obviously I had many hands help me along the way - educating me on basic mechanics and EH idiosyncrasies. For each and every person who provided this guidance, help and parts (you all know who you are) - I thank you.  I still have a lot to learn, but I certainly know much more than I ever dreamed I would.

To women who used to be reluctantly dragged along by their husband to car shows and club meetings that have now developed an appreciation for classic cars - this is your opportunity.  Car restoration isn't just for blokes so don't be afraid to give it a go.  The rewards are more than worth it - especially when you can stand up proudly and say 'I did this'.  I am happy to say that my efforts have encouraged other women in my car club to purchase their own EH and start restoring and I hope that many more are inspired to give it a go!

The beginning of Her 64

After the pain and agony of helping my husband transform 64 EH, I vowed we would never go through a restoration project ever again.

It was a brief conversation with my husband in his EH when coming home from the EHCCNSW Anniversary Day in August 2005 that caused my car to be bought and restored to the gem it is today.  No, I didn't even suggest that I wanted an EH, or any car for that matter..  We were discussing car colours and I stupidly said "If I had an EH I would paint it that colour".  I didn't realise that, to my husband, that meant I wanted an EH and that it gave him permission to dedicate himself to finding me the 'perfect' EH to restore - on the sly.  As usual, I learnt about his 'idea' when he had already bid on it on ebay, been in telephone negotiation with the seller several times and he needed the cheque book filled out.  At the time, I was furious, but I can now say that I'm glad he did it (just don't tell him that!!!)
