After the
pain and agony of helping my husband
transform
64 EH, I vowed we would never
go through a restoration project ever
again.
It was a brief
conversation with my husband in his EH
when coming home from the EHCCNSW
Anniversary Day in August 2005 that
caused my car to be bought and restored
to the gem it is today. No, I
didn't even suggest that I wanted an EH,
or any car for that matter.. We
were discussing car colours and I
stupidly said "If I had an EH I would
paint it that colour". I didn't
realise that, to my husband, that meant
I wanted an EH and that it gave him
permission to dedicate himself to
finding me the 'perfect' EH to restore -
on the sly. As usual, I learnt
about his 'idea' when he had already bid
on it on ebay, been in telephone
negotiation with the seller several
times and he needed the cheque book
filled out. At the time, I was
furious, but I can now say that I'm glad
he did it (just don't tell him that!!!) |
