My goodness refitting takes a long time!!!  Clean a few things, attach a few things, drop in the engine, join up the hoses and turn over the engine.....not! I cannot believe that it took two days just to clean the stainless side strips let along cleaning the other stainless bits and pieces.  I will be happy to never touch a tube of autosol ever again.  I was keen to re-fit all the stainless and chrome and with some tips, was able to put the handles back together and on, all the stainless strips, bumpers, plenum grill, wipers... you have the gist.  It was really rewarding and exciting to get them all on as it really makes the car look like it is all coming together again.

As for the engine re-fitting, it felt like every time we went to do something, we didn't have it and needed to run up to Rares, Supercheap, Auto One, Nepean Boltmaster or Spectrum.  Even with careful preparation, keeping a list in excel with best prices and the purchase price,  I still managed to forget quite a few things off the purchase list.  I have kept all the receipts but I am truly too afraid to add them up to know the real cost.....

We decided that we would hide the wiring under the drivers front guard, which made the engine bay really neat, but it took many hours of fiddling by one of my dedicated helpers in making it all happen.  It was worth it.

The wheels were the last thing to be fitted, which were the icing on the cake.  Whilst it was a painful journey to pick and then purchase my rims, seeing them on the car made the pain go away.  I originally had chosen Centreline trigons and ordered them Christmas 2005 with the promise from the supplier that they would be here in 3 weeks.  He required fully payment ($3990) and some 12 weeks later and several phone calls we were able to get a full refund and look for something else.  I really didn't want a standard 5 spoke rim and ended up finding a set of dragway billets that suited the style of the car.
